I’ve been deciding when would be an appropriate time to write about my all-time favorite Black Eyed Peas song and I think with them hitting #1 on iTunes with their new song “Just Can’t Get Enough” (is it any good? I’ve only heard 30 seconds worth…), I think its the perfect time introduce one of their hidden gems of a track “Bebot,” a song sung completely in Tagalog, language of The Philipines where member apl.de.ap‘s roots are from–who also is featured as the solo rapper. This isn’t your typical will.i.am production and its a must hear!
What’s kind of cool is that the track got its own music video, despite mostly only featuring apl.de.ap but still showing the other peas. The track truly is hot (despite being from their now almost 6 years old Monkey Business album) and will most likely remain that way for years to come. Check out one of two music videos created for “Bebot” (which means ‘hot chick’) and its music video (with a hilarious minute introduction) below and remember how cool the Black Eyed Peas used to be…I mean still are…I mean…oh just watch:
