After much speculation and confusion, it looks as if T.I. will be releasing the brilliant Alex Da-Kid produced “Castle Walls” as his next single. The Christina Aguilera feature (with the single art to the left) should prove to be an interesting choice since with both T.I. in the slammer and Christina making her way coming back (Burlesque is a hit after all) it should be interesting to see how the single does.
According to Alex Da-Kid’s twitter, the song was sent to radio today and will be officially added next week. Which means if fans of the two singers want the song to be a hit they need to start requesting now to make sure radios are willing to play it. Alex Da-Kid sure seems set on making it a hit since if it doesn’t, this will be the first song of his that follows the male rapper/talented singer combination he’s been doing so often (B.o.B. & Haley Williams “Airplanes,” Eminem & Rihanna “Love The Way You Lie,” Diddy-Dirty Money & Skylar Grey “Coming Home,”) to not become a big hit. And with a flop like Nicki Minaj’s “Massive Attack” he needs to keep his streak going.
The song follows the same formula and shows T.I. going hard on the raps and Christina REALLY turning down the vocals for once making for an extremely easy to sing a long to chorus and hook as well. Although, Christina did try toning it down on Bionic and look how that turned out (I think that albums great btw!).
Regardless, take a listen to “Castle Walls” (beautiful title by the way) and give me your thoughts. Hit or no hit?
