ARTWORK: LUPE FIASCO’S “LASER” ALBUM + JESSIE J’S “PRICE TAG” SINGLE COVERS

Two exciting new music artworks hit the net the other day. The first coming from Lupe Fiasco with the official cover of his controversially delayed album Lasers. The cover shows the word LOSERS in neon lighting, but then an ‘A’ replaced instead of the ‘O’ possibly giving an indication of how he feels about the album? Its been known that Lupe had finished this record for quite some time, but was put on hold by his record company which almost led to a protest by his fans until the company finally released a date of March 8th, and is going to follow the first single “The Show Goes On” with what Lupe called a “controversial” second single following. I’m excited since this album is probably very different and alternative to what most rappers are doing–thus why it was pushed back so much, which also probably means its amazing.

The next piece of artwork we’ve gotten is from Jessie J with her next single “Price Tag” featuring B.o.B; which will end up being her first single in the US. The artwork is very cool, but unfortunately the single is very generic of course putting on a hot rapper of the moment B.o.B. will give it some recognizability, but I don’t know if this song is going to be enough for Jessie. She has just about everything working in her favor meaning the song shouldn’t bomb, but I think she’s going to need to come with something more than a single like “Price Tag” if she wants to prove her staying power. In other Jessie news, the singer has mentioned that she would like Nicki Minaj to do verses on the eventual US single “Do It Like A Dude” and is very close to completing her record.
