MELODY THORNTON NAILS “STAR SPANGLED BANNER” PERFORMANCE

As the trend continues of members who never got the chance to shine in the Pussycat Dolls make more interesting moves than their lead singer, the only one who ever sometimes got to sing Melody Thornton sang The National Anthem at today’s Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers basketball game.

Melody completely KILLS the performance and I’m eagerly waiting for a high quality video, but this is too good not to post. She belts, she croons, she does everything in between and has never sounded better! She even sound reminiscent of her idol Christina Aguilera doing some similar notes that Xtina’s done during her National Anthem performances lately. Melody sometimes has the potential to be a little sloppy vocally, but not here! It was actually amazing!

Interestingly enough, since Melody won’t give us any information herself the NBA announcer labeled Melody as “independent recording artist” showing that Melody still has not found a label. She has made it clear she’s only going to sign with someone if they’re going to support her fully and being one of the unknown back-up dancers for Nicole Scherzinger, I mean a member the Pussycat Dolls, makes things difficult. The announcer also says that she is recording her debut solo album. I think Melody can work it out if she keeps trying–either way this girl isn’t going anywhere! Keep it up Melody, I believe in you! Wig snatching starts at 1:00

Now listen to the also amazing Cee Lo Green produced “Love Gun.”
