Musical icon and revered legend everywhere but the US, Kylie Minogue is in the midst of preparing what could be one of the biggest tours the music world has ever seen. Even though the wonderfully created Aphrodite has been met with mediocre success with the second and third singles, the tour is still pushing on. And while some may think this a bad move when she’s not her hottest, Kylie is so established throughout the world that any tour she goes on will be well received and attended. She’s bigger than needing radio and singles at this point, I just wish America would also pick up on this too! But anyway, check out what one blog had to say about the upcoming monster tour:
According to her Facebook page, the tour will have the “most technologically advanced and extravagant stage that has ever been built to date.” There will be 1 million movable parts associated with the stage, seven lifts, 600 light sources, a special “Fly System,” which was inspired by the Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway and a “Wet Zone.”
Oh yes, water plays a HUGE factor into the staging. Those jets are going to be able to shoot 30 meters into the air, according to insiders. And that’s not all! As we understand it, the developers of the water shows at Bellagio and the Disney California Adventure theme park lent a hand in creating the water elements for the tour!
We’re told that the grand total for everything, from the staging to the 200 costumes to the 20 air acrobats is $25 million!
So this tour is not going to be just a tour, its going to be a moveable musical theme park! Sounds incredible!
A photo of the stage set up has been released to the left as well. I’m not the hugest Kylie fan, but this entire spectacle has gotten me to the point that I just need to experience it. LUCKILY, Kylie IS coming to North America…just not America…YET! More tourdates are still to be announced but after a pretty successful American tour before Aphrodite and the album debuting in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 (her second best debut in the country), I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that that will be enough for her to come here since even with some big promotional gigs her singles failed to make any impact. The Aphrodite Les Folies tour begins mid-February hitting every place in Europe before extending to Asia in April and then North America in May. *Fingers Crossed for US shows!*
