KERI HILSON GETS MOTOWN MAKEOVER FOR LETTERMAN PERFORMANCE

Keri Hilson left the grunge of her other single “The Way You Love Me” for a glamorous and glitzy affair that was her “Pretty Girl Rock” performance on Letterman tonight. In a smart move, Ms. Keri Baby offered a revamp of her new Top 40 hit giving the song a Motown twist that came equipped with an entire 1960’s inspired backing band, two dancing back-up singers (very Supremes), and Keri herself looking like a cross between Diana Ross and Marilyn Monroe.

While Keri’s always been a solid performer, she went to the next level with this must-see performance. Great vocals first of all, but what I was most impressed about was the tight choreography that had Keri and her back-up dancers showing that Beyonce has nothing on her with best Dreamgirls impression; and it working very well.

While I was enthralled by the singer taking the tired sounding “Pretty Girl Rock” a completely wonderful makeover for the performance, in true Keri Hilson fashion the R&B diva did something ridiculous found at her attempt to act like a true 1960’s pin-up girl with seductive smiles and giving Miss America waves, and when she tries to embrace David Letterman in true beauty queen style he just grabs her hand for a handshake (and kiss).

All and in all a GREAT effort by Keri Hilson and I once again applaud her great team for hooking her up with yet another big promotional spot, 3 weeks after the album has been out none the less! Even with the lackluster material she’s released so far, she’s been doing well and I have to give my props (and tell them to release “Take Control” featuring Nelly!). Take a view here:
